Overview
IELTSMODE ("IELTSMODE", "we", "us") provides an AI-assisted IELTS preparation platform covering Reading, Writing, Listening, Speaking, and vocabulary practice. This Privacy Policy explains what information we collect when you use ieltsmode.com and our mobile/web app (the "Service"), why we collect it, and the choices you have.
By creating an account or otherwise using the Service, you agree to the collection and use of information as described here. If you don't agree, please don't use the Service.
Information we collect
Account information
When you register — directly or via Google Sign-In — we collect your name, email address, and, if you choose to add them, profile details such as your native language, target band, bio, avatar, and social links.
Practice & performance data
We store the tests you take, your answers, timings, streaks, and the scores and feedback generated for each attempt across Reading, Writing, Listening, and Speaking, so your progress and history stay available in your Profile.
Speaking audio
Speaking practice records short audio clips of your responses so they can be transcribed and scored. Audio is processed to generate your feedback and is not used for any purpose beyond delivering and improving that feature.
Payment verification details
IELTSMODE Pro is currently activated manually: you send a bank transfer receipt and your account email to our support Telegram so we can match the payment to your account. We never ask for your card PIN, CVC, or SMS codes, and we don't process or store full card numbers.
Usage & device data
Like most web apps, we automatically receive some technical data — browser type, device type, approximate location (from IP), pages visited, and performance metrics — via privacy-respecting analytics tooling described in Third-party services.
How we use your information
- Operate and maintain your account, and authenticate you securely.
- Deliver mock tests, score your answers, and generate AI feedback.
- Track your progress, streaks, and leaderboard standing.
- Activate and manage IELTSMODE Pro subscriptions.
- Respond to support requests sent via Telegram, email, or Instagram.
- Monitor, debug, and improve the reliability and speed of the Service.
- Detect abuse, fraud, or violations of our Terms of Service.
We do not sell your personal data.
Cookies & local storage
We use a small, non-sensitive cookie to let the server recognize that a session may be active, and browser localStorageto keep you signed in between visits and to remember your light/dark theme preference. We don't use third-party advertising cookies.
Third-party services
The Service relies on a small number of third parties to operate:
- Google Sign-In — to let you create an account and log in with your Google identity, subject to Google's Privacy Policy.
- Vercel — hosts the Service and provides Vercel Analytics and Speed Insights, which give us aggregated, privacy-respecting usage and performance metrics (no advertising profile is built from this data).
- Telegram — used only for support and for the manual payment-verification flow; a receipt screenshot and your account email are sent through it at your own initiative.
Data sharing & disclosure
We share personal data only with the service providers above, as needed to run the Service, or when required to comply with a legal obligation, enforce our Terms of Service, or protect the rights, property, or safety of IELTSMODE, our users, or the public. We do not share your data with advertisers or data brokers.
Data retention
We keep your account and practice history for as long as your account is active, so your progress stays intact. If you delete your account, we remove or anonymize your personal data within a reasonable period, except where we need to retain limited records (e.g. payment confirmations) for legal or accounting purposes.
Data security
We use industry-standard measures — encrypted connections (HTTPS), access-controlled backend services, and token-based authentication — to protect your data. No method of transmission or storage is 100% secure, so we can't guarantee absolute security, but we work to keep your information safe and to respond quickly to any incident.
Your rights & choices
You can, at any time:
- Access, review, or update your profile information from your account.
- Request a copy of the personal data we hold about you.
- Request deletion of your account and associated data.
- Withdraw consent for optional features (e.g. profile visibility).

Children's privacy
The Service is intended for learners preparing for the IELTS exam and is not directed at children under 13. If we learn that we've collected personal data from a child under 13 without verified parental consent, we'll delete it.
Changes to this policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. Material changes will be reflected by updating the "Last updated" date at the top of this page, and, where appropriate, we'll notify you in-app.
